Dr. Jason Wong
Dr. Jason Wong is originally from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, growing up in Vancouver, Canada. He has since worked his way across the United States, first graduating from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in English, followed by earning his D.M.D. degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. After dental school, Dr. Wong completed a hospital-based general practice residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York, where he developed a passion for periodontics and dental surgery. He then practiced general and implant dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee, before relocating to Florida to complete a three-year periodontal surgical residency at Nova Southeastern University. During his time at NSU, Dr. Wong served as Chief Resident of the postgraduate periodontology department and completed his master’s thesis on the effects of probiotics on dental implants. He then transitioned into private practice, where he now leads the team at Palm Beach Periodontics.
Dr. Wong is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction that represents the highest level of achievement within the specialty. Unlike licensure, which is required to practice periodontics, board certification is an optional credential that recognizes periodontists who have voluntarily pursued and demonstrated comprehensive mastery in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of periodontal disease, as well as in dental implant therapy. Diplomate status is awarded only through a rigorous, two-year process of written and oral examinations conducted by globally recognized experts and distinguished board-certified periodontists. This certification reflects Dr. Wong’s ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning in the specialty.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Wong is deeply committed to advancing periodontology through education. He serves as an adjunct faculty member in the postgraduate periodontology department at his alma mater, Nova Southeastern University, where he has the privilege of training future periodontists. He also lectures at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center, where he educates dentists on periodontal surgery and implant dentistry. In addition, Dr. Wong serves as the Director of The Palm Beaches Study Club, providing high-level continuing education and fostering a community for like-minded dental professionals. His contributions to the field extend to research as well—he is a published author in Clinical Advances in Periodontics, a journal of the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Wong is trained in the latest techniques for periodontal and dental implant surgery and remains committed to staying at the forefront of dental medicine through continuous education and innovation.
Outside of the office, Dr. Wong enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his dog, Izzy.
